In the United States, the ability to trace any ingredient from its origin, through each step in the manufacturing process, to its final destination is a necessity as mandated by Section 306 of the Bioterrorism Preparedness Act of 2002. The Tracer™ Solution complies with this Act by electronically capturing data so that producers can keep detailed records on the origin and destination of each individual ingredient. The Tracer Solution also improves accuracy, product quality and reduces costs by ensuring that every recipe is weighed within desired tolerance and no ingredient is omitted.

The TRACER Dry Foods Solution is a unique recipe formulation and traceability system for Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), portion control, inventory optimization, and weight loss productivity. This unique system has been developed by Rice Lake Weighing Systems and The Stevens Group Ltd.— the international leader
in the creation of traceability software for the dry foods industry.

Because it is completely open-architected, every component within the TRACER Dry Foods Solution easily integrates into existing systems. The Dry Foods Solution’s Fornula One Formulation Software is a middleware solution developed exclusively to better integrate a customer’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, production floor batch, lot traceability, and data collection. The intelligent Human Machine Interface (HMI) touchscreen controller displays easy-to-follow instructions and graphics to show important work instructions, visually warn operators of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and HACCP data. The HMI controller ensures that every recipe is weighed within tolerance and no ingredient is omitted to improve accuracy and reduce costs. By weighing ingredients within a controlled tolerance, annual ingredient costs and scrap batches can be significantly reduced.
